We can want it "all" but we can't have "everything"..

We can have it "all" but we can't have "everything"..

I read this article on LinkedIn about a mom whom I believe is a business women and a mother, shared her view of a balance work + family life.. or in her opinion, is not balance work and life thing, it's a life thing.. It's the way we choose to live with the responsibilities that we have.. I think it is a good read and encourage women to be empowered to do more but at the same time not to neglect our family. We can have it "all" and we must first clearly define what is "all" to us..

Mine would be God in my Family, in my Ministry and in my Work; and all 3 are my life given by God.. (what does not make it into my "all" list. I don't get to travel often never mind; I don't get me-time often it's ok; I don't get to enjoy time with friends as often -- I"ll ask them to become my family LOL!!!) anyway, I hope you get what I mean.. there's a lot of things I would love to do more often.. (like getting more time to blog) but it's ok.. I do my best when ever I can here but I must remember my priorities..

Everyone's "all" is different.. So What is the definition of your "all"??

Father's day this Sunday..

It's not easy to please a father yet at the same time it takes very little to please him also..
Complicated? yes..
The only thing that matters to a father is what he deems most important to him.
We get that done, everything else is additional.
Some fathers I can see have very very high expectations toward their children.
Some of those expectations scares me because it's really scary!

I suppose since the child is part of you, as a father, you will know his/her limitations.
but I always question how to motivate or push our children to do and to be the best they can be in the right way.. Not in the negative way coz they would be really scary.. coz by doing that in the end, will drive the children away from us parents.. Is it by living enough? No need to tell or teach, just live like how you want them to live and then just let them figure it out on their own.. too slumber don't you think?

We must teach, guide and most importantly discipline. Something I too still learning..
I love to eat salad.. i eat it all the time.. but My kids don't even want to give it a try.. So do i force it on them to eat salad with me as much as I can? there's some techniques others may have used like, give it to them when they are really hungry and have nothing to eat but salad.. ahahaha interesting right?? I could do that if i had the patience too and parenting is not just me doing all the work, my hubby must also support the idea and the culture that we want to bring into the family.. My hubby hates salads.. we almost have the opposite taste of almost a lot of things.. food, entertainment, holiday locations, leisure preference etc.. how to feed my kids salad when daddy don't even touch it? :( hard! but not impossible!! I will not give up!! hahahaha

It may not happened right away or as fast as I want my children to eat healthy, but I believe if I keep at it and persistently influencing them to eat healthy, eventually I believe they will eat and better, learn to love it.. If i force and force and force which sometimes I do but not as often, they may grow up hating the sight of a veggies.. like me and one of my friend.. don't even want to try ordering fish if we can avoid it.. LOL..

Still I am not sure if I am doing the right thing coz there are family and friends out there still insist that I must, the word is MUST force them to eat..  Eat some and as much as they can, yes, i understand its a must.. and some people has done it so well!! (i really must learn from these successful parents) but for me, it's not that easy because both me and my hubby have different preference..

Just like what the picture is saying "one day our children will follow our example rather then from our advise.." (I hope they will take my lead to eat healthier food later in their youth..) Just like no matter how we hated what our parents did to us? We still continue doing it to our own children.. perhaps, that is the only way we know how to teach from our own childhood??.. unless we have a renewed mind and learnt something different to do it through a better way..

Another question came to mind.. Why the western culture have very brilliant ideas and techniques to teach their young children etc but when they turn teens, they become someone else totally and the parents can't say  or do anything to stop it? hmm.. of course not all but more problems teens from the western world then in Asia.. right? or only those that was not taught properly during their young aged turned out to be so? Is it caused by the different in teaching and nurturing techniques? or Culture? or timing? or what? anyway.. let's keep this topic till next time..
ta for now..

Today's word says it all...

We have a choice today and everyday to be joyful and grateful.
When you are with someone who are in mourning, mourn with them, you will bring comfort to them.
When you are with someone who are rejoicing, rejoice in their happiness and be joyful for them,
they will thank you for celebrating and sharing their best hours.

It's not that our emotions are determined by others, no, it doesn't..
It's just that we care enough to the people around us that we want to do what is right for them at the time.
but believe us when we tell you this..

We choose to be grateful, thankful and joyful no matter what.
Because we are learning to trust in Jesus.
He is our ultimate Hope, our ultimate Future, our ultimate Savior.
No one can calm us down like He does. No one can grow us like He does.
No one can love us like He does. No one can accepts us like He does.
No one else but Jesus.

~ He transform trials into Blessings ~

Paintball event!! pew pew pew~~~

hahahaha.. just finished getting 20 confirmed players for our CPY paintball games for next month.. why so urgent? coz we need to buy the groupon during their promotional period... within less than 24 hours, 20 ppl and more actually confirmed!! wah!!! God is good!!! praise the Lord for everything..

Settled everything and now just waiting for the day to come :D so happy!!

As I was preparing for this event. Suddenly made me realize something eternal.. I emphasize a lot with the confirmed players that they cannot back out from a last min absence because if they do that, they will still need to pay the fees despite they attended or not. Payment due when registering..

Made me think that it is like our walk with Jesus,

"But don't begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it? (New living translation)

The players are given time (very short time) to think they can commit on coming for the event or not and once they commit, they must pay up. And if they acted irresponsibly and disappeared on that day, they will still need to pay the cost. So think carefully before you sign up for this..

Now this verse isn't talking about believing in Jesus or receiving salvation.. That's different. Receiving God's salvation is by faith and by grace. Freely and there's no cost to it. Jesus has already paid the cost on the Cross. But when we want to really make a difference in our lives and in other people's lives, there's a cost to pay and that is when we need to really pay for it. And before we all want to do great and marvelous things for God and His kingdom, first we need to really count our cost, would we do what ever it takes to be obedient to God and His calling? Everyone's cost is different but everyone has a cost to pay for following Christ.. make no mistake of that.. Don't try to compare your cost with another person because everyone is different and unique so never compare..

Of course, in our paintball case those who misses it can always pay more, play with other ppl and set their own rules (time, dates etc) which may not cost much at all.. It's just more time and money. But in following Christ, it's really something we can't take for granted. Yes, God is a God of second, third etc chances.. but if we don't rise up when we are called to rise up (Like Queen Esther), we are actually disobeying, so what will happen? Your blessings will be pass down to the next person God called to fill in our place, and that person will receive the blessings and honor we suppose to receive. We just missed the train and have to wait till the next time. God doesn't ask us to go do mission work without first preparing us (See how God prepared and paved the way for Esther to be Queen?), don't worry.. God knows us soooo well, He will guide us step by step, bit by bit, and stage by stage... but in the beginning, would we be willing to pay the cost for each step, each move, be patience and trust in Him.. tt's the real task.

Sometimes our disobedience will cost us more then just getting the next person doing what we are suppose to do for God's Kingdom.. Sometimes, there's just no one else to do it because others was not prepared by God like how He has prepared us ever since He made us in heaven. Gave us the kind of parents we have to mold and teach us, the kind of friends and enemies that inspired us, the kind of situations and circumstances that shaped us etc.. No way God can just give your life assignments to someone else.. Like Jesus's life assignment. He is God and also a human being, he can choose.. to obey or to rebel.. have you ever thought what will happen if Jesus disobeyed God, Our Heavenly Father?? It will never happened right? I say why not? He had a choice, Jesus choose to obey because He knows what He has to do or else, many will perish.

Following Christ is an everyday task, have you counted your cost? You have a choice, make the choice you choose be worth your while..

National Geographic just behind the backyard..

Interesting sight.. to see wild boars running in and out of my In Law's compound. Of course they were attracted by the nice smell of coconuts that was put there as bait..

There were 3 different family of wild boars that stroll in that day..
1st batch of 3 teen - youth adults wild boars..

2nd batch was a group of 3 little piglets..

The 3rd was 4 little hungry piglets..

It was really fascinating to see this so up close!! my 2 kids was about to watch them eat the coconut as well.. it was amusing for about 3 min.. hahaha.. There's no point in catching em' coz we don't have the heart to kill it for food, nor able to keep them as pets.. Just like to see them and enjoy their presence.. a wild pet without restrain or ownership.. :) I have seen a full grown wild boar waltzing into the compound b4.. HUGE man!!! very amazing encounter with this wild life..

My father in law is very creative and I thank God for him..

Early wake up call..

I normally don't wake up early on Sundays coz the activities on the night before always tired me out.. But today I woke up before 7am.. And I woke up thinking about what my good friend baron shared with me yesterday night. Her experience going to prayer mountain really changed her and the first thing she was tested was when she came back from her trip, which was not a holiday to her but a time of encountering God, she master bedroom was flooded with water as one of the pipes on the wall burst and licked until her bed and wardrobe was all affected.. At first she was really really up set and angry, then she and her husband started to pray, really pray for peace and they got it. They really received the peace to carry on that night.. It's frustrating to come home from a few hours flight an find your bedroom is spoilt ya know.. And for the many years o knowing her, I know she will be extremely up set, but this trip have approve again the power of God working through all who have gone to the prayer mountain.. God is really powerful.

Another couple that I truly saw change as they also went to prayer mountain is my pastor and his wife. After the trip, they came back refreshed and humbled. What is more astonishing was that they became an encourager to others rather then always finding faults to church members, I think as we grow older, it's like an occupational hazard for us older generation, all of us will do that but they changed and became a happier person but doesn't mean they don't go through trouble waters, its just that they have receive a new hope and a renews spirit!! It's wonderful!!

Now how does it affect me? I also want to go!! Along with my hubby!!! I am a person who is easily satisfied which is sometimes good, but God really wants more for my and my family and for my youths!!! Coz this time when I do go, we will bring the youths to go as well.. I really want I see change from within. I woke up this morning thinking why when ever we do something tt we wanted it to last it doesn't last? Coz we haven't catch and receive the spirit yet. The people who went for this prayer mountain expedition received something that need to combine the race in Korea. And I want that for myself and for my family and for my youths.. I want to catch the spirit again and I really want my husband and my youths to catch it also..

Do I start with this important thing and its not writing a blog.. Hahaha.. (Even though that was the 3rd thing I did, first I went toilet then took a picture of today's sunrise then sat down to write this.) oppps.. I should start it before anything else next time... Prayer..  Thank you lord for waking me up early.. It's a beautiful day everyday when I have you by my side no matter what the circumstances I faced.. You love me regardless of my sins and weaknesses and I pray my love for you is good enough to put a smile in your face and honor in your heart..

My thoughts about "The Big Sleepout (Lifewise) by Linda Coles"

Linda Coles from LinkedIn wrote this title: "I will be Homeless and I's Scared" It was a very interesting topic so I went to have a read..

It brought me to tears in the end, to realize how it feels like to be homeless and to remember the show THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS when Will Smith (actor) have to lock himself and his son in the public toilet (LRT Wash room) to have a night rest when the janitor was knocking and wanting to bang the door down.. It was heart breaking and when ever I remember that scene, it's just so depressing and sad.. I never want to see anyone, none - people I know or people I do not know, to have to go through this.. Perhaps some people do prefer to live in the streets for what ever reasons. (There are, and we will never understand why unless we listen to them i guess..)

Linda Coles took part in an event called THE LIFEWISE BIG SLEEPOUT, which runs for 1 night in several cities around the world, and all in aid of bringing awareness to the plight of the homeless. I was thinking to myself like... WOW!!! that's really something new to me?? someone actually organized a sleepout? Why Malaysia no do such things? (coz Malaysia too dangerous to do such things... LOL.. true also right? look at the current crime rates in certain places in KL.. one of my youth's friend don't even dare to go out of her house and throw rubbish ler..* that's a bit extreme lar but that is the reason for her not to throw trash at night.. xD I am sure some of you accepts her wisdom, while some feels it's an overreaction from a teen..) Anyway, other safer countries may have done it before and I would love to join..

Imagine bringing my whole family sleeping on the road side of KL city.. me and my 2 kids may be thrilled in the beginning, obviously my husband will be cool about it if he is there (because he will either do it or not do it at all kinda person, so if he does it, he will do his best to be positive.. no grumpiness is allowed! LOL) Right when my kids starts to get tired and sleepy.. nah.. that will be the time that all hell break loose I tell you.. The kid's tantrums will affect our mood most definitely.. we always try to be cool in public but it is a ranging fire within us, trust me.. it takes a lot of self control not to stand up and scream at my kids in public.

Anyway, I'd like to see this happen one day in my life time, in my country.. When it is safer for us to do so in public, to allow ourselves and our children to taste and to know how it feels like to be homeless..  What do you think?

Yesterday's word...

Ever wonder why we can feel lonely even in the midst of family and good friends? Ever wonder why we have accomplished so much and still feel empty inside? Ever wonder why we know we are missing something but not sure what it is, or the better question is who is it?

We usually THINK we need a partner/lover/spouse to fill in the emptiness which in the end, we find it futile. We go to our family, parents, brothers and sisters and they disappoint us; we stay independent, go be successful, rich with knowledge and in finances and still nothing was enough. How come? Why do we have this never ending desire? A bottomless pit of dissatisfaction towards our lives that frustrates us so?

If only we could understand, not just know, but understand that this emptiness, this bottomless frustration, this void that we have..., can only be filled by God.. Everything else will fall into place one by one, slowly but surely, piece by piece the life we live becomes satisfying and we are able to enjoy every bit of beauty, goodness, wonders and greatness God has made it to be for each and everyone of us..

I am not saying its going to be easy, it's not. It's just that even when we faced with the worse case scenarios, with God by our side, we are  able to see things in His perspectives and not our own. We can trust, or learn to trust, in His great plan.. We can finally have peace in all things and enjoy what ever is before us.. Good or bad..

Lovely and satisfying experience..

First I had a nice lunch at Ben's.. For lunch I had this soft shell crab salad, not bad but not enough :D I love the mood of the restaurant.. The cakes looks deliciously lovely..

Then I went for a walk and saw this very nice display in the middle of publika.. Wow, a solo exhibition by shin Pui San.. Hand painted, brings back loads of memories.. Some o her paintings was sold for RM 1,500 each while the bigger paintings cost about RM 6,500 each.. Very impressive oh!!! Most of the RM 1,500 paintings were already sold and one table + painting was sold for RM 6,500 as well..

Lovely right? :)

Then next to it is the Nando's 6th peri-fy your art competition 2013.. Wah.. More nice art work.. So creative!!!

The last are the 2 grand prize winner!!!

Then after a quick walk around I went to Ben's boutique.. Nice lar the decor.. I like Sakai like tt hahaha.. Thank goodness they don't mind I took photos.

It was a lovely day indeed!! Every time I am able to enjoy good art, I appreciate the creativity of God. All beauty and creativity is from Him, He is the one that gave us humans His idea, his vision and His sense of beauty. I thank God for today.
