Try to close my FB account for a while and not look into it until 2014.. I really think I should take a break from FB since it is so addictive.. hmm.. Anyone out there wanna try it together with me? :)

I am logged out!!!

I am logged out from FB!!! They frozed my account and ask me for my ID! Sot meh!!! I am not going to send my ID like that!! So many identity theft in the world!! I rather live without FB.. Ask them go fly kite.. They wouldn't die without me also lar.. Worst comes to worst, I creat another account and start all over lar.. Kan? Apa susah? ........ Actually, troublesome lar!!!! All my contacts!!!! Old friends and family!! Can find lar but still.. >:( as if they took all my pictures and moments on FB..

Hmmmm... Suddenly made me realized about the virtual world.. It can a gone just like that!! And we thought we could savor it or keep it as a record of our lives but the fact is that, nothing really stays forever.. I mean nothing that is truly important.. Made me really think that FB is really not so important I guess? Erm.. I dunno~~~ yet~~~ coz I just lost the acc >~< I may have FB withdrawal later.. How? 

A defense on Christmas Generosity.. (Original title "In Defense of Christmas Consumerism")

The title is actually high lighted by one of the readers in RELEVANT FB page.. it should not be Christmas Consumerism but Christmas Generosity.. :)

Relevant Magazine have some really good write ups including this one about Christmas Generosity.. I say it generosity because it is about being generous and it is about sharing God's goodness and love.. 

I understand that everyone have their choice and they have their own right for the way they think, and I am sure not everyone agrees with the writer because all of us see things very differently.. I am just asking that we examined ourselves and not loose the fun and joy of Christmas like Scrooge did.. Be joyful and have a heart of thanks giving for all things good God has done in our lives and thank Him for being there for us during the bad.. 

Christmas is about God's love, grace and generosity.. Jesus came as a precious gift to mankind.. Cherish this time of giving and receiving.. That's all I am asking you to think about..

TEDxKLWomen

Yes! I went for a TEDx conference! Awesome conference and some of the speakers are really interesting and inspiring..  First thing I learnt! Some of the hair band you see on 'Gossip Girls' (Yes, it's the drama Gossip Girls) is actually produce n designed by these two girl from Kuching!!! Interesting right!? It's so surreal! Who would hv thought it would be possible? I was wondering where Gossip girls find all those nice hair bands. Hahaha mana tau, it's custom made.. No wonder.. Now makes me wonder how much they cost.. :) 

This is really awesome food art and paper art! Why paper art? Coz she can cut out the design on a sea weed.. Very pro!!

We had mostly young speakers and the one that really stand out was Cheryl Yeoh. Why? Because she is down to earth and you can see that she is wise beyond her age.. She gave good advise and relevant to all if not most ppl there. What I learned from her.. EXPLORE, just explore your options, passion and try out new things.. People who are successful tried other things before and many of it failed until they landed on that ONE thing that was meant for them to do that made them successful.. so explore your gifts and passion and see where it may leads you. 

Second lesson: DON'T literally take the advise that ask you to follow your passion. LOL.. many do give that advise even myself (and most of the people who spoke during the conference) but I agree with her totally.. Passion can die down when success does not follow.. so what to do when our passion slowly withers away? it does not make you a bad person or a quitter, it just means that you need to find your passion again and sometimes, that means moving on and doing other things.. Which she did.. After her first success (and it was her first baby) she moved on to another project and now she is passionate about what she is doing there! 

After that, we have this Nigerian Performance called Kafayat Quadri that sang for us.. It was lovely and beautiful.. I enjoyed it so much! She works in a lawyer firm (if not mistaken as a lawyer) but she also ventured into a poetry magazine business.. Many people question "who would want to read poetry now a days?" But she persevered but at the same time thought about how to reach out to people so that they would listen to her and read her poetry? Can you all guess it? She started singing it and reaching out to people through her songs.. Inspiring right? 

Another speaker that really caught my attention is Joanne Kam.. I am sure a lot of people out there knows her name.. SHE is so funny, 'ham sap' and proud of it! Some of her jokes are x-rated lar but she is just being herself and it made people laugh.. She has a lot of ventures on her plate and being a single mom, she can really juggle her time well. 

This is a fusion kinda project which I think , if they didn't get any permission from Star Wars to use their characters, can end up with a law suit.. Just saying that Star Wars has an intellectual property rights.. We can't just fusion famous character and made it our own.. I think our community should be enducated with this fact.. Even images, I cannot sell these images for a profit because there is no model or property release.. I am using this images for personal blogging use, that is not to resell ah.. So it's different..

Anyway, people need to know that we cannot simply do a project like this without consulting with the original character makers lor.. That's all I am saying...

Now all the positive have been said, let me share to you something I think is bad advise for the young generations (or even for the older ones.) "It's so easy." when someone said that, automatically some of your audience will conclude, "of course lar, your family is rich, can afford to support you and you don't have any family obligations; Of course lar, you got so many rich friends, so easy to raise money; It's all about network, connections and who you know geh lar. etc" There was a girl sat next next to me that altered that "Her family must be very rich so that she could do all this creative things without needing to work." Of course she also ""Oooo and wah..." when she saw the person's work but how many of the people on stage that night actually started off with a humble background? That is my real question lor..

Of course we can choose to ignore that some of them are from a good back ground, but really..... how many of us can afford to do what they are doing while having our family obligations to attend to? Like a sick family member; a special child; a father with debts; failed businesses etc.. At the same time, there are so many young people out there who has everything and still do not know what to do with their lives and wasting their time on nonsense.. true also.. So How? 

I still believe a person should choose to live a life with a noble purpose, with a good calling. Not something that could endangered other's or corrupt society. So, it doesn't matter if many people who could live their dream or passion because their family is rich.. Be happy for them because they have found something they are passionate about. But when we go home and when we look at our circumstances, don't give up on our dreams while taking care of the things that matters to you most.. Don't be irresponsible but don't give up either.. work hard and hang in there..  

Nonsense phone call..

I received a sales call today and while she was rambling about her product, I politely but firmly stopped her so she could get to her point, then she asked me, "You Malay ke? Indian ke? atau Cina yer?" That got me lar!!! "Does that matter?! I don't think it matters and these sort of question should not be asked on a sales call! EVER! I am a Malaysian!"

ok, your product may be focus Muslim travelling destination or Chinese cultural destinations etc.. But one should not ask so bluntly what race are you in a sales call to gauge your customers preference.. You should explain what you have or ask relevant questions like "What dream destinations do you have in mind?" "What kind of experiences do you look for during your travelling?" etc.. ini tidak, terus tanya "Are you this or this or that??" ello!? irrelevant and rude ok? buat marah je.. ceh.. 

Sudah, don't wanna talk about it..

The "North pole"

My hand writing for today is really lousy.. Hahaha may be as the day pass, my hand writing will look better.. I may need to warm up before I star writing on a nice brochure like this one..

Where did I have the 'north pole'? It's from FreeMori :) some of their cakes are delicious!!! And some of their bread are so yummy!! I am nt a fan of too much cheese.. So this one got an average rating from me..

This is a wonderful movie for girls.. LOL.. yes girls.. it's not about love between 2 lovers, well, a bit lar but rather about the love for your sibling(s).. the love between sisters.. 

From the way I see it, it was about overcoming the misunderstanding between two sisters.. Elsa, the elder sister, the new queen and the one with the magical 'cold' touch.. but her heart is not cold, her intention has always been pure, her love has always been for everyone.. and yet because of fear in herself and in others made her so dangerous.. 

Only her sister, Anna, who, no matter what, would still put her life for the sake of Elsa because she knew, she knew Esla was just been misunderstood by everyone.. Who wouldn't be? She has been kept hidden until she has to learn to even hide her feelings, her kind heart and her well intentions etc.. it's hard not to be yourself you know? And Elsa is not a bad person... She is just trying to protect those that she cares and loved most.. She didn't mean to create fear but for others who doesn't understand, couldn't understand... 

I find one of their song tracks really powerful, burned in my soul as if that was my past and even though it was not exactly what happen to me, still it feels like I too sang out because of freedom! Accepting who I am because I am not a bad person, Jesus loves me and He died for me. Surely I am precious enough for someone to love me like that right? I was always been misunderstood, and yet Jesus still understand me and no matter what mistakes I made, His love endures forever! And He too sacrificed Himself, His comfort, His life, His glory... for my sake so that I may come to God through His ACT OF TRUE LOVE. (Do you see it now? :)

As you listen to the song, I hope you will also feel the power and the excitement rising from within your heart! Even though this song was sang as Elsa, who thinks tt is it better to be all alone and leave her past behind her, yet in the end we all know that she is to die for! That's how priceless you are to God.
