When you are Mature enough to handle it then i think you are ready.. in the book written by James N. Watkins, here are the signs of TRUE Maturity:

1) making choices based on what will be right for you and others in the future rather than what feels good right now. (just because it's legal doesn't always means it's responsible thing to do.)

2) Showing self-control without giving in to pressure from inner impulses or freon outside forces.

3) Accepting the authority of others without rebelling against them or totally giving up your own views and values.

4) Accepting people and things the way they are, not pretending they are the way you want them to be. You can encourage people to be the best they can, but you also can accept that you can't force them to change.

5) Keeping promises and commitments no matter how difficult it may be.

6) Living in a Christlike manner.
